Pistol Team Wins Easily

The MCS Pistol Team swept the Stemmers Run 5th Annual Pistol and Revolver Tournament and the Eastern Maryland State Championships last Saturday winning a total of 33 places.

One hundred police, military and civilian shooters competed in the firing of .22, .38 and .45 caliber pistols. The Marine team was comprised of Lt. Col. Walter Walsh, CWO Mark Billing, Master Sgts. Thomas Mitchell, Vito Perna and Charles Plante and Sgt. William McMillan.

Colonel Walsh won six firsts, one second and four third places; CWO Billing won two second and three third places; Sergeant Mitchell won two first, six second and one third place; Sergeant Plante won three first places and Sergeant McMillan won one first, three second and one third place.

The Eastern Maryland State Championship was won by Colonel Walsh with a score of 866. Sergeant Mitchell took second honors with a 864 and Mr. Billing took third with a 862.

The MCS team won both team matches.
